Summary
Join SpryPoint, a leading provider of cloud-based solutions for the utility sector, as a Project Manager. You will play a key role in implementing enterprise SaaS-based software, exceeding customer expectations, and working directly with our team and utility clients. This position requires managing multiple large projects, overseeing communications and risk, forecasting effort and revenue, and maintaining positive team relationships. Travel across North America to client sites will be necessary. SpryPoint is looking for candidates who are enthusiastic about learning, constantly strategizing for improvement, and seeking to expand their knowledge of SpryPoint products and the utilities industry. This is a forward-looking hiring strategy, and while there may not be an immediate opening, we anticipate expanding soon and want to connect with talented Project Managers.
Requirements
- Post-secondary degree or diploma, preferably in project management or business administration
- Minimum three years experience related experience in enterprise project management
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and SaaS implementations
Responsibilities
- Applying SpryPoint's hybrid implementation methodology to our enterprise projects
- Developing realistic, manageable project schedules and ensuring they are up to date and accurate with appropriate task assignments and effort
- In coordination with other Project Managers, prioritizing work effort across our Professional Services and Development teams to more clearly define project timelines and ensure balanced workloads
- Maintain detailed and accurate project documents per the SOW and our implementation methodology
- Proven financial acumen experience gained by managing projects
- Experience negotiating resources and deliverables within a matrix organization
- Experience negotiating with customers on modifications and compromises to project scope or deliverables based on project schedule, contingencies and predefined acceptance criteria
- Using keen attention to detail to support the delivery of professional project documentation to our clients
- Develop engaging relationships with our clients and our internal team at all departments and strata of the organization
- Proven ability to understand and explain the impact of project discussions to both customers and internal stakeholders
- Assist with gap analysis and discovery workshops
- Review and understand that all contractual and SOW requirements are being met and delivered successfully
Preferred Qualifications
- Currently holds and/or is pursuing a PMP, CAPM or comparable project management designation would be considered an asset
- Experience or familiarity with the utilities industry would be an asset
- General familiarity or experience working with Management Information Systems, such as Customer Information Systems (CIS), Work Orders & Asset Management (WAMS), Mobile Workforce Management (MWM), and/or Geographic Information Systems (GIS) is a bonus
- Fluent with productivity tools such as Google Suite, Microsoft Office and others
- Experience with web-based Portfolio/Project Product Management tools
- Both traditional and agile project management methodology training
- Experience with SaaS-based product implementations would be an asset
- Proven interpersonal skills, the ability to build and strengthen relationships (both internal and external), and the ability to foster cooperation with numerous stakeholders, including senior management, clients and business partners
- Exceptional communication skills and the ability to form engaging relationships
- Continuous improvement mindset and ongoing desire to learn and proactively bring forward new ideas
- Ability to identify and mitigate project risks, estimate resource needs, and logically create project schedules
- Ability to conduct project reviews with other Project Managers
- Experience motivating and influencing individuals and teams
- Effectively prioritize and execute tasks in what can be a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills with an emphasis on making decisions quickly and effectively
- Exceptionally organized and able to build and follow defined processes to ensure all tasks/steps are completed
- Strong ability to multitask and manage multiple customer-facing projects a once
- Confidence to work independently and interpersonal skills to work as a member of internal and external teams
- Strong written/documentation skills with excellent attention to detail
- Resourcefulness and an ability to develop a deep understanding of utility industries - electric, water, wastewater, gas, telecommunications, sanitation, and others
