Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
  • 3-5+ years of hands-on experience in the design, development, and testing of spacecraft propulsion systems
  • Expertise in propulsion system modeling and analysis tools, and the ability to create your own analysis tools
  • Ability to lead complex engineering projects with multiple stakeholders, meeting deadlines and deliverables
  • Be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State

Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end design, analysis, and development of propulsion systems for advanced satellites, ensuring mission requirements are met
  • Oversee the integration, testing, and qualification of propulsion systems, including hardware-in-the-loop and system-level testing
  • Develop and implement novel propulsion technologies and architectures to enhance system performance and reliability
  • Conduct performance analysis and simulations of the propulsion system
  • Drive system-level trade studies to select optimal propulsion technologies based on mission objectives and constraints
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams, including structures, avionics, and thermal, to ensure seamless integration of propulsion subsystems

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with chemical propulsion systems
  • Knowledge of CAD tools such as SolidWorks for propulsion system design
  • Hands-on experience with propulsion test setups, including vacuum chamber testing and instrumentation
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, startup environment or a similarly dynamic setting
  • Ability to maintain or obtain TS/SCI clearance
