Requirements
- A masterโs or doctoral degree from an accredited graduate program in psychiatric mental health nursing
- Appropriate CA-state licensure: unrestricted active California PMH-NP License and unrestricted California DEA with schedules II-V
- ANCC Board Certification
Responsibilities
- Engage in an immersive six-month transition-to-practice program that runs concurrent with patient care responsibilities
- Manage a progressively increasing caseload throughout the program, consisting of independent medication management sessions, evaluations, assessments, and follow-ups
- Conduct 60-minute intake sessions and 15- to 30-minute follow-up appointments, with brief supportive therapy provided during 30-minute sessions
- Manage 45- to 60-minute transfer appointments as well as provide intermittent coverage for fellow providersโ appointments
- Create comprehensive assessments and treatment plans with proper documentation
- Participate in weekly meetings with the Psychiatry Team
Preferred Qualifications
- Preparedness for participation in a transition-to-practice program, including ability to commit to a full-time schedule, which includes attending meetings, educational intensives, and independent synchronous learning initiatives
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Knowledge of fundamental psychiatry principles, philosophies, and practices
- Familiarity with current DSM-V criteria as well as diagnostic capabilities
- Understanding of crisis assessment tools and risk assessment techniques
- Eagerness for ongoing learning and ability to apply acquired knowledge in a clinical setting
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Exceptional listening skills and emotional intelligence
- Willingness and ability to work as part of a cohesive team
- Proven technical ability and comfort with learning new technologies
- Familiarity with Google Suite and comfort with navigating an Electronic Health Record (EHR) system
Benefits
- Starting salary $125,000 annual salary for a 40-hour work week (including 32 hours a week seeing patients and practicum and 8 hours of non-patient time to complete learning and assignments during flex times)
- Upon successful completion of the program, you will transition into a full-time, regular position with Foresight Mental Health, and your annual base salary will increase to $145,000
- An additional salary adjustment will be considered based on performance six months after successful completion of the program
- Schedule: Tuesday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM for patient visits and practicum, with an additional 8 hours allocated for assigned modules, readings, homework, case studies, etc. that can be completed at times that work best for you
