Requirements

  • 5+ years of sales experience, including at least 2 years focused on the public sector (Strong understanding of government procurement cycles, budgeting processes, and commonly used contract vehicles, e.g., GSA Schedules, NASPO, state-specific contracts)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of cybersecurity products, services, and frameworks—particularly how government agencies evaluate risk, compliance, and technical fit
  • Proven track record of closing complex, multi-stakeholder deals with public sector organizations
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and drive deals through long sales cycles
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, especially in conveying technical value propositions to both technical and non-technical government stakeholders

Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop new sales opportunities across federal, state, and local government agencies
  • Develop and maintain trusted relationships with government buyers, influencers, and procurement officers
  • Leverage your network and conduct outreach via email, phone, and in-person events to drive pipeline growth
  • Collaborate with internal teams to craft compelling proposals, RFP responses, and capability statements
  • Maintain accurate records of pipeline, forecasts, and opportunities in a CRM (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot)
  • Monitor legislative developments, agency budgets, and bid portals to stay ahead of upcoming opportunities
