Python Engineering Manager

Summary

Join Spreetail's Software & Technology team as an Engineering Manager and lead a remote team in India. You will build empowered teams, ensuring engagement and effective execution. Responsibilities include facilitating ceremonies, managing operational surface areas, and driving performance management and career development. This remote position requires 10+ years of engineering experience, deep Agile/Lean understanding, and strong communication and negotiation skills. Technical expertise in Python, AWS, and database design is also needed. A suitable work-from-home setup is mandatory.

Requirements

• 10+ years experience in an engineering or product role, building solutions from the ground up that support major business functions
• Deep understanding of Agile and Lean principles and measures
• Experience being immersed in engineering, product, and design functions, understanding the various processes
• Negotiation skills necessary for the management of external vendors
• Exceptional communication skills and the ability to inspire colleagues
• This is a remote position and requires candidates to have an available work-from-home setup
• 4th generation or higher, at least Intel i3 or equivalent processor
• At least 4GB RAM
• Windows 10 and above or MAC OSX operating system
• You are required to provide your own dual monitors
• A strong and stable internet connection (A DSL, cable or fiber wired internet service with 10 Mbps plan or higher for primary connection)
• PC Headset
• A high-definition (HD) external or integrated webcam with at least 720p resolution

Responsibilities

• Build empowered teams with the passion and engagement to drive towards business outcomes
• Act as a servant leader to ensure engineers have the insights, tools, and support to execute effectively
• Ensure the team is engaged and present while at work
• Visualize teams out of the office to ensure organization transparency and ownership of LTR metrics and ensure engineers understand the expectations as well as the why behind them
• Ceremony facilitation ownership for demos, daily standups, and retros
• Accountability for team ownership of operational surface area, team alerting, and root-cause analysis
• Embody the Science &Technology Principles and use them to guide decisions
• Responsible for performance management of your team and supporting their career development
• Create an environment of knowledge sharing and growth, placing a high priority on leading and developing others through coaching, feedback, and stretch opportunities

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Python Data learning Design, Web Scraping, AWS S3 and Blue Database Design, Architecture Design, and has experience being a good principal engineering mentor
• Hands-on experience with Python or Ruby, R, AWS Database Design, JSON, HTML & CSS, Web Scrape Design, and Scrum process
