QA Automation Engineer

Summary

Join Definity First as a skilled QA Automation Engineer and contribute to ensuring the quality and reliability of our applications through automated testing solutions. This is a 3-month contract position (with the possibility of extension) that is 100% remote and open to candidates in Mexico or anywhere in LATAM. You will design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks for web and/or mobile applications. Collaboration with developers, product owners, and manual QA engineers is key to defining test strategies and ensuring comprehensive test coverage. You will also execute automated test suites, analyze results, report defects, and participate in code reviews. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in test automation frameworks, scripting, and continuous integration.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in QA engineering with a focus on test automation
• Strong knowledge of Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar automation frameworks
• Experience in scripting/programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, Python, or C#
• Familiarity with API testing (Postman, REST Assured, etc.)
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, etc.)
• Knowledge of test design techniques, QA methodologies, and SDLC
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
• English: B2+ level, with the ability to communicate effectively with international teams
• Computer Science/Information Technology Bachelor's Degree or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks for web and/or mobile applications
• Collaborate with developers, product owners, and manual QA engineers to define test strategies and ensure test coverage
• Execute automated test suites, analyze results, and report defects in a clear and concise manner
• Participate in code reviews, provide feedback on automation strategies, and ensure adherence to QA best practices
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines for efficient and scalable test execution
• Contribute to improving QA processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance product quality

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with cloud-based environments (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Knowledge of performance testing and related tools (JMeter, Gatling)
• ISTQB or similar QA certifications
