QA Automation Engineer

Summary

Join Dynatron as a remote Senior QA Automation Engineer based in India and contribute to the success of our data quality initiatives. This independent contractor role requires expert-level Python skills and a focus on ensuring the reliability of our data pipelines and warehouse. You will design, implement, and execute automated tests, produce data quality reports, and collaborate with engineers and testers. The role demands extensive experience in Python, SQL, and data analysis, along with strong communication skills. While benefits like health insurance are not provided, the contract includes India Gazetted Holidays and 24 days of PTO. Compensation is $30,000 USD/26 Lakhs INR. The role requires availability during specific overlapping hours with the US team.

Requirements

• 5 years of hands-on Python development experience using testing frameworks and libraries
• 10 years experience with SQL queries on multiple database platforms
• 5 years experience analyzing JSON and XML files
• 10 years experience with advanced use of Excel
• 5 years experience testing API’s
• Ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical resources
• Lead by example, demonstrating a commitment to excellence, integrity, and professionalism in all aspects of your work

Responsibilities

• Test Automation
• Work closely with manual testers and data engineers to define automation test cases for data pipelines and data warehouses
• Design and Implement scalable and reusable frameworks to execute automated tests for all critical steps in the data pipelines
• Produce data quality reports that can be easily used and accessed by stakeholders
• Analyze test results and work with data engineers to determine root cause of failures
• Document Test Plans and Procedures
• Work with manual testers and engineers to analyze current testing processes and suggest improvements through automation
• Participate in all Scrum ceremonies
• Create Epics and Stories associated with Data Quality efforts as necessary

Preferred Qualifications

• 5 years experience with data quality implementations in data warehouses, including Snowflake
• 10 years experience working with relational databases such as MySQL and Vitess (sharded databases)
• Experience with Big Data technologies technologies is a plus
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
