Join BeyondTrust as a Manual QA Engineer and contribute to creating a safer world through cybersecurity. Collaborate with an Agile team to ensure software quality, focusing on testing and reporting. You will execute test plans, investigate and resolve software issues, and contribute to test material development and maintenance. While manual testing is the primary focus, an interest in automation is essential due to the company's migration towards automated testing platforms. You will work independently on tasks of moderate scope, gradually expanding your expertise across multiple modules and products. The role requires strong communication and collaboration skills, along with a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous learning.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of manually testing commercial software
  • Bachelor's degree in a business or IT related discipline, or equivalent professional experience in a software testing environment
  • Solid understanding of Linux is a must (Mac experience a plus)
  • Experience in Agile methodologies (Scrum experience a plus)
  • Solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle
  • Good understanding of TCP/IP (IPv4, IPv6)
  • Knowledge of relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MSSQL, etc.)
  • Knowledge of programming languages Python, JavaScript (the ability to read code is a plus)

Responsibilities

  • Team Up with members of your Agile team to ensure software delivered by each sprint and each integration test meets both functional and non-functional requirements
  • Collaborate with members of your Agile team in the creation and execution of test charters, test scripts, recording outcome of tests, reporting defects and identifying opportunities for product improvement
  • In collaboration with the Agile team, definition and execution of increasingly complex workflow and scenario testing; execution of exploratory testing as required to meet the test plan
  • Creation and maintenance of suitable test environments for all software testing to take place. This includes the set-up of the software being tested and populating or configuring test data. This may extend to testing of interaction with devices e.g. testing of interfaces and integration with other modules, products or interface test harnesses
  • Perform static testing and impact assessment of development documentation
  • Collaborate with members of your Agile team to ensure all user stories have enough acceptance criteria defined, from which test cases will be derived
  • Analysis of customer support issues escalated to engineering
  • Achieve agreed productivity targets in order to ensure tasks are delivered to schedule, must be able to report, as early as possible to team or manager, where delivery milestones cannot be met
  • Work with the Agile team to achieve excellent levels of product quality prior to external release
  • Work with the Agile team to produce any required documentation and training materials for the product(s) within your areas of responsibility
  • Any other activities in support of the business which can be reasonably expected to fall within the capabilities of the employee

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Cloud environments, and Cloud technologies (AWS / Azure / GCP) is a plus
  • Experience with directory services (Entra ID, Active Directory, LDAP, SCIM, etc.) is a plus
  • Experience with authentication services (SAML, Open ID Connect, etc.) is a plus
  • Experience with web service communication protocols (SOAP UI, REST API) is a plus
  • Experience with Bug Tracking/Project Management tools (Jira) is a plus
  • Experience with Test Case Management tools (Jira X-Ray) is a plus
