QA Engineer

Join us in our mission to create solutions that help keep children safe online. We are seeking a strong QA Engineer to join our team of dedicated Test Engineers, supporting the development and improvement of quality software for child digital safety technology.

Requirements

• A curious mind that seeks continuous learning and development

• You'll be confident navigating and using the linux command line environment while working on Linux based technologies
• Use of virtual software to drive component creation (including, but not limited to): Vagrant VirtualBox Docker
• Experience Networking (for the creation of services and to setup communication between them): TCP/IP, UDP VLANs Firewalls HTTP protocols VPN Proxy
• Experience with building & upgrading hardware and familiarity with CPU & motherboard architecture
• You’ll be able to demonstrate good skills and experience in scripting languages such as Shell, Python etc…
• Ideally have some experience with non-functional testing specifically performance testing hardware

Responsibilities

• Creating environments which mimic real-world customer installations so our software can be tested against those at scale
• Including setting up services such as: RADIUS & Active Directory
• Configure networking appliances, load balancers, switches & physical servers
• Conduct our performance testing and hardware verification of new appliances
• Building up Smoothwall configuration profiles to define the behaviour of the Smoothwall so that testing is reproducible and predictable
• An opportunity to establish automated tests for User Stories in this team
• Working within a development team using task management tools such as Azure DevOps & Jira. Taking part in daily stand ups and help ensure quality is at the heart of our software development
