Summary

Join iMedX as a Quality Assurance Associate (QAA) and work remotely as a full-time contractor. Under the Director of Transcription Operations, you will review transcribed documents for accuracy, transcribe/edit as needed, and conduct quality audits. This role requires advanced medical terminology knowledge, understanding diverse accents, and proficiency across transcription platforms. You will proofread various accounts and specialties, identify inconsistencies, and utilize reference materials. Compliance with regulations and security standards is crucial, along with continuous skill enhancement and promoting a culture of quality. The position involves reviewing reports against original dictation, disclosing HIPAA violations, and potentially performing random reviews with feedback.

Requirements

  • Possess advanced knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, disease processes, signs and symptoms, medications, and laboratory values
  • Have the ability to understand diverse accents, dialects, and varying dictations styles
  • Be able to work across transcription platforms
  • Be able to determine the needs of each document on its own merit from a quality standpoint, whether that be blanks, demos, or full voice-to-text proof

Responsibilities

  • Proofread a variety of accounts, dictation work types and specialties with urgency and accuracy across multiple transcription platforms
  • Recognize inconsistencies, discrepancies, and inaccuracies in medicolegal healthcare documentation and appropriately resolve, clarify and/or report as necessary
  • Utilize an array of professional reference materials including those in electronic format. Be proficient in referencing and researching
  • Understand the medicolegal implications and responsibilities of the healthcare records, ensuring compliance with local, state and federal rules and regulations along with security standards and privacy practices (e.g. confidentiality, security of patient care documentation, risk management, HIPAA)
  • Review transcribed/edited reports against the original dictation voice file, applying AHDI Book of Style
  • Disclose any HIPAA violations found within the report to direct supervisor
  • Pursue continuous enhancement of proofreading, transcription/editing and transcription technology skills
  • Foster a culture of customer service, quality and continuous improvement
  • Perform random review, through an automated or manual selection process, of real-time or previously transcribed reports per criteria, as requested
  • Provide timely results of the random review, along with consistent feedback to eliminate repetition of errors and skill building
  • Promote the Company's values
  • Perform other job-related duties as may be assigned or required
