Quality Inspector - Level 2

Summary

Join our global inspection team as we assure the quality of components and assemblies for a leading aerospace client. As a precision mechanical inspector, you will conduct inspections at various supplier sites in Los Angeles, Orange County, San Diego, and surrounding areas.

Requirements

• Must have 5 or more years of hands-on industry experience with precise machine parts
• Ability to use technology and adapt to new software
• Be able to read and interpret standard manufacturing drawings based on industry and commodity standards
• Strong GD&T experience and capable of validating dimensions (total tolerances >/=.005” with Minimal GD&T validation) utilizing standard hand tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, height gages)
• Experience with certificate of conformances
• Operating Coordinate Measuring Machine experience is a plus

Responsibilities

• Conducting precision mechanical inspections at various client suppliers
• Performing precision inspection verifications on mechanical parts, components, assemblies, and materials
• Inspecting purchased parts, in-process and final assemblies, and materials for workmanship and conformance to specifications/drawings
• Performing surface plate inspection of the first article, in-process, and lot sample parts if required
• Utilizing inspection equipment such as micrometers, gauge blocks, dial indicators, height gauges, optical comparators, profilometers, and coordinate measuring machines (CMMs) if necessary
• Verifying documentation packages to industry/commodity-specific standards
• Classifying defect types, and verifying rework conducted during the time of the inspection

Benefits

• $30 - $32 an hour
• Additional 0.67 cents per mile traveled and half hourly rate of travel pay
