Quant Risk Intern

Summary

Join Xepelin as a Quant Risk Intern in the Quant team. You will be responsible for evaluating and mitigating operational risk, particularly in detecting potential fraud related to electronic invoicing. You will also have opportunities to improve current policies, identify vulnerabilities, perform backtesting, collaborate with the Quant team, lead experiments, develop analytical models, and collaborate with the Data team.

Requirements

• Be a student in the final year of Civil Engineering or Commercial Engineering (with an analytical, not sales profile)
• Have a valid student insurance
• Advanced SQL skills, particularly with BigQuery
• Strong analytical skills and ability to work with large datasets
• Interest in automating processes and decision-making
• Excellent communication skills and teamwork abilities
• Proactive attitude and ability to learn quickly
• Availability for internship between 4 - 6 months

Responsibilities

• Evaluate the suitability of current operational risk policies and propose continuous improvements
• Identify potential vulnerabilities in existing processes and systems related to electronic invoicing
• Perform backtesting on new policies in question
• Collaborate with the Quant team to implement analytical solutions that automate risk decisions
• Lead experiments to evaluate the effectiveness of new operational risk policies and propose adjustments based on results obtained
• Develop and improve analytical models for detecting patterns and behaviors associated with potential fraud in invoicing
• Collaborate with the Data team to access and analyze large datasets with the aim of identifying anomalies
• Develop project management skills as you evolve in the role
• Collaborate with other teams to implement solutions and improvements in operational risk processes
