Requirements

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, techniques, and materials
  • Proficiency in using industry-standard software like AutoCAD, CostX, and MS Excel
  • Excellent negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Sound understanding of construction contracts (e.g., JCT, NEC)
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills

Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate cost estimates and budgets for construction projects
  • Analyze project specifications, drawings, and contracts to forecast costs
  • Assist in the preparation of tender documents and procurement schedules
  • Evaluate contractor bids and negotiate contracts to ensure cost-effectiveness
  • Monitor project expenditures and compare them with initial estimates
  • Ensure adherence to budgets and identify areas for cost optimization
  • Perform valuations of completed work and arrange payments to contractors
  • Ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions
  • Identify potential project risks and provide mitigation strategies
  • Ensure all work complies with legal regulations, health & safety standards, and industry norms
  • Prepare detailed reports on project progress, costs, and deviations
  • Maintain comprehensive records of all financial transactions and correspondence
  • Liaise with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients to ensure seamless project execution
  • Provide advice on contractual and commercial issues
