Job highlights

Summary

Join PsiQuantum's quantum architecture team to develop and evaluate high-level designs for fault-tolerant photonic quantum computers. The ideal candidate will have a background in physics with some exposure to quantum information, quantum error correction, and quantum optics.

Requirements

  • Degree in Physics, Math or Computer Science or equivalent required
  • PhD in Physics, Math or Computer Science, with a focus on quantum information theory or quantum computation preferred
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across departments, sites, and time zones
  • Ability to work independently and contribute in fast-moving start-up environment
  • Experience programming in Python, C++ or similar languages
  • Experience with numerical simulation techniques e.g. Markov-chain Monte Carlo or tensor networks
  • Competent use of collaborative software development tools (e.g., GitHub) is desirable

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with domain experts to model quantum phenomena in photonic components, circuits, and devices
  • Implement controlled approximations of models for integration into large-scale simulation frameworks
  • Identify sources of error, interactions with quantum error correcting codes, and potential mitigation techniques
  • Profile simulation tools and explore and implement more optimal numerical and computational techniques
  • Run numerical analyses, manage data, and communicate results
