Summary

Recurve is seeking an experienced Regional Account Executive for the East Coast to help grow their expanding business in the energy space, particularly focusing on EE, DR, and VPP topics. The role involves sourcing new business opportunities, engaging with utilities and partners, and collaborating with DER providers. The ideal candidate should have at least 5 years of experience in strategic market development or utility sales roles, preferably within the energy or climate tech space.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in strategic market development or utility sales roles, preferably within the energy or climate tech space
  • Experience selling enterprise SaaS products to the utility space and utility partners
  • Demonstrable track record in energy markets and utilities, preferably in the area of demand-side management, distributed energy resources, and energy efficiency
  • Strong understanding of the industry including the East Coast energy landscape, with a focus on electric and gas utilities
  • Strong presentation skills and comfortability communicating with large, varied audiences
  • An assertive approach to challenging customers’ status quo and approaching new potential customers
  • An inquisitive mindset focused on identifying customer needs, key stakeholders, and identifying potential roadblocks early
  • Technical curiosity that will allow you to thrive in a cross-functional role and serve as a thought leader and early solutions consultant to clients
  • Experience with CRMs, Powerpoint, and Excel
  • Enjoyment working in a fast-paced environment, jumping in wherever is needed, and helping get things over the finish line

Responsibilities

  • Demand Generation: Aside from our Marketing and other demand generation efforts you will self Identify and source new business opportunities with utility customers and partners
  • Leverage your network with Investor Owned, Municipal, and Co-op utilities to accelerate engagements, build pipeline, and shorten sales cycles
  • Expand revenue at current utility accounts against an annual SaaS and consulting services sales quota and continually qualify new sales opportunities
  • Engage with our channel partners and support our partnership team to develop strategic partnerships for new and innovative sales opportunities
  • Collaborate with DER providers and others in the energy and demand-side management industries
  • Engage and develop relationships with managers, directors, and executives at electric & gas utilities in particular in the EE, DR and VPP space
  • Lead account teams and work with Recurve leadership to follow up on potential expansion opportunities while helping to maintain client health
  • Rapidly develop the ability to tell the story of Recurve’s value-based and innovative approach to the energy industry
  • Create the response and support solution development with respect to RFIs, RFPs, etc., as necessary
  • Create, communicate, maintain, and execute cross-functional account plans
  • Drive opportunities through contract to close while working closely with Recurve and client legal teams
  • Work closely with our Solutions team to identify opportunities for further growth and expansion within existing accounts

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, IT, Business Administration, or related field
  • Background or familiarity with energy regulatory environments in the United States
  • A proven track record of success in previous Sales roles
