Summary
Join Petfolk as a Regional Medical Partner and become a regional medical leader, cultural champion, and mentor for veterinary teams. You will focus on the training, growth, and medical and financial success of Partner Doctors and Associate veterinarians. Collaborate with various departments to ensure the growth and success of PCCs and Mobile events. Responsibilities include medical compliance, APT targets, revenue growth, and managing relationships with key stakeholders. You will also partner with hospital leaders to diagnose issues, identify opportunities, and develop action plans. This role requires significant travel within the assigned region.
Requirements
- Reside in the state of Texas or Arizona
- 8+ years in the veterinary ecosystem
- DVM, VMD, equivalent degree with veterinary licensure in good standing, including DEA registration
- 3+ years leadership or management experience within a veterinary setting, multi-location management preferred. Management experience should include solid understanding of veterinary practice financials and experience managing multiple veterinarians

Responsibilities
- Partner with the medical operations team to plan, recruit for, and execute business and medical growth within the Petfolk market(s) to which you are assigned
- Responsible for exceeding medical compliance and APT targets, as well as revenue growth to budget and cost-managing strategies to result in exceeding operating profit of the portfolio through coaching & developing Partner Doctors within the region
- Monitor key metrics and performance indicators daily/weekly to achieve performance objectives, while also managing relationships with key stakeholders
- Understand business drivers and create opportunities to optimize them, with a strong focus on volume growth & service mix and offerings
- Partner with hospital leaders, and BI to diagnose issues, identify opportunities, and develop corresponding action plans
- Deploy structured and repeatable management processes with hospital leadership teams to drive operational effectiveness and growth
- Prioritize areas of focus based on impact and urgency; help teams do the same
- Will partner with Finance & BI teams to determine opportunities to hire for growth & utilize new service streams
- Will be responsible for providing medical leadership and oversight of locum DVMS in partnership with the Regional Business Partner
- Will partner with our Business Intelligence team to provide insight to data discoveries that could provide margin opportunities within the clinics. Will participate in budgetary conversations
- Will influence and ensure grassroots marketing efforts in the region
- Partner with Petfolk departments (marketing, BI, recruiting, HR, business development, and finance and accounting) to create and implement plans that support business growth, including marketing, scheduling optimization, client growth and retention, identification of new services, recruitment of new DVMs, and expansion of existing sites and their capacity
- Will influence and implement new medical and operational initiatives within the region through collaboration with Medical Operations and Learning and Development
- Coordination of training of new Partner doctors from completion of Petfolk Grow and transition from Dir. of Medical Support
- Development of business acumen and medical and financial success in individual PCCs
- Medical record auditing and quality assessment in conjunction with Partner reporting and review
- Training of Partner Doctor on effective medical record review and delivery of feedback
- Medical record review of Partner doctors during initial 3-6 months
- Identification of medical quality concerns
- Review of efficiency and completion of medical records
- Onboarding and training success measured via surveys for new veterinarians
- 30/60/90 Day survey
- Completion of Seismic required training
- Assist with management and allocation of Relief Doctors in assigned region
- Training of Partner Doctors on relief doctor management
- PCC Partner Doctor responsibilities when Partner DVM not established
- KPI review with Associate veterinarians and Business Partner
- Medical process and efficiency coaching
- Professional Development guidance
- Controlled Substance management and auditing, including Primary Registrant responsibilities
- Scheduled meetings with TA as needed
- Monthly candidate summary reports
- Virtual and in person doctor interviews
- Completion of interview scorecards
- Collaboration on and assessment of interview process with VP of Vet Med and TA team
- Partner with Learning and Development and People departments to host and support externs within Petfolk markets
- Collaborate with Partner and Associate veterinarians to discuss medical cases
- Participate in and contribute to monthly Medical Committee meetings
- Partner with Learning and Development create and implement topic focused training materials or initiatives
- Participate in and advise on monthly P & L calls with Partner Doctors
- Participate in weekly 1:1 with Director of Medical Operations
