Regulatory Reporting Accountant

Join GoCardless as a Financial and Regulatory Accountant, reporting to the Finance Manager in the Paris office. This role is crucial for the group's regulatory financial reporting and French financial statement preparation. The position offers remote or hybrid work options for candidates located anywhere in France. You will be responsible for regulatory financial reporting, preparing French statutory financial statements, supporting external audits, maintaining internal controls, and researching accounting issues. The ideal candidate possesses experience in a similar role or audit experience, strong knowledge of regulatory reporting and accounting standards, and excellent communication skills. Requirements

• Possess experience in a similar position or prior audit experience in a Big 4 firm
• Be a financial accountant, with demonstrable knowledge of regulatory reporting, French GAAP (PCG and PCEC), and IFRS standards
• Have the ability to work in an international environment in both French and English
• Be a self-starter who can work independently to identify and resolve accounting issues
• Have proven skills in analyzing processes with the delivery of process simplification and improvement through automation/ system development
• Possess integrity and an analytical approach

Responsibilities

• Ensure regulatory financial reporting for licensed entities is compliant with rules prescribed by the FCA, ACPR, and US state authorities
• Prepare French statutory financial statements in accordance with the PCEC
• Prepare entries to convert IFRS to FR GAAP
• Provide support during the Company's external audits and interact with auditors
• Maintain and strengthen internal controls over regulatory and French statutory reporting
• Research and resolve accounting issues including evaluation and implementation of new pronouncements to ensure reporting compliance
• Work with financial controllers to ensure accuracy and completeness of accounting for regulatory reporting
• Deliver process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of our accounting, regulatory reporting, and overall control environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Have experience in fintech/ payments
• Have knowledge of regulatory reporting requirements for payment service providers
