Remote Reliability Engineering Co-Op

Summary

Join Samsara's Quality and Reliability team as a Hardware Reliability Engineer to design quality processes, implement reliability strategies, and analyze data to drive actions for high-quality product development. This is a 6-month co-op opportunity based in San Francisco with flexible remote work options.

Requirements

• MSc/PhD in Engineering, Material Science, Physics, or a related field
• Experience with stress testing; fatigue testing, vibration, and shock testing, electrical stress, and environmental stress
• Experience with failure analysis methodologies
• Understanding of physics of failure and the application of stresses to underlying failure mechanisms
• Experience with Design for Reliability concepts
• Experience with hardware reliability tests, third party test oversight, and test execution
• Self motivated, proactive, creative and critical problem solving capabilities

Responsibilities

• Work cross functionally with partners in Hardware/Firmware Engineering, Operations, and Support to ensure our customers have a best in class product experience
• Design in reliability through the product development process and own product reliability modeling, testing, and validation
• Lead product quality investigations in addition to root cause and corrective actions with internal cross functional team members and external vendors
• Analyze and investigate defect trends that improve incoming material and outgoing product quality
• Identify opportunities for corrective actions and continuous improvement through field failure investigations
• Create feedback loops to continuously improve the products in the field and the next generation
