Essential Job Duties

Our ideal AI Research Senior Manager will be a hands-on expert, leading a focused team to explore and creatively apply emerging artificial intelligence techniques to expand what is possible at BambooHR. Our ideal leader will be able to work collaboratively with a variety of teams, whether that’s remotely, in office, or hybrid. You’ll be instrumental in evolving our AI vision and platform.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead research, helping practitioners and teams understand and expand on new methods
  • Explore boundaries and illustrate the art of possible through labs and proofs-of-concept
  • Be an influential voice across the company, sharing the AI vision and potential solutions
  • Manage experienced data scientists, AI / ML engineers, and other specialists in strategic R&D initiatives around AI

What You Need to Get the Job Done

  • PhD or equivalent experience in Computer Science or similar quantitative fields
  • 12+ years of hands-on experience in advanced engineering, machine learning, and AI
  • 5+ years working in high tech research and innovation roles
  • 3+ years of technical leadership
  • Strong quantitative and technical methods (math / stats, machine learning, deep learning, NLP, generative AI / LLMs, computer science, data transformation)
  • Ability to develop and analyze complex algorithms
  • Superior critical thinking and problem-solving grounded in business understanding
  • Proficiency in languages, frameworks, and workflows for building AI / ML

Schedule

  • In harmony with team core hours: 9AM-5PM MST, Monday-Friday
