Responsibilities

  • Manage and implement projects related to clinical data generation, clinical content, and data analysis for publications that are both internal and external facing
  • Collaborate with business operations, translational medicine, and medical affairs leadership across oncology to develop and implement clinical sample acquisition and clinical data management roadmaps and processes
  • Work as a liaison between clinical operations and translational medicine/medical affairs to design new clinical trials and represent the medical voice during implementation
  • Develop and execute on a data management strategy, including research consents, protocols, IRBs SOPs
  • Work with business operations, medical affairs, clinical operations, data management, and research leadership to identify and develop solutions for gaps in technical tools for clinical data management, curation, and analysis
  • Engage Natera medical directors, medical science liaisons for clinical projects, abstract writing and content creation
  • Deliver presentations/posters at scientific meetings and company promotional events as needed; represent company at trade shows and medical conferences (<10% travel)

Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Associate Director of Clinical Projects and Data will support Medical Affairs and Clinical programs by delivering on clinical projects, clinical content, clinical data and scientific publications related to Natera products. They are expected to collaborate within the Medical team and across departments to integrate clinical knowledge and expertise. This position is an active contributor to the overall strategy and goals of the medical team and reports to the Senior Director, Translational Medicine for Early Cancer Detection

POSITION LOCATION: This position can be out of our San Carlos, CA office or Remote, USA.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage and implement projects related to clinical data generation, clinical content, and data analysis for publications that are both internal and external facing
  • Collaborate with business operations, translational medicine, and medical affairs leadership across oncology to develop and implement clinical sample acquisition and clinical data management roadmaps and processes
  • Work as a liaison between clinical operations and translational medicine/medical affairs to design new clinical trials and represent the medical voice during implementation
  • Develop and execute on a data management strategy, including research consents, protocols, IRBs SOPs
  • Work with business operations, medical affairs, clinical operations, data management, and research leadership to identify and develop solutions for gaps in technical tools for clinical data management, curation, and analysis.

  • This role works with PHI on a regular basis both in paper and electronic form and has access to various technologies to access PHI (paper and electronic) in order to perform the job.
  • Employee must complete training relating to HIPAA/PHI privacy, General Policies and Procedure Compliance training and security training as soon as possible but not later than the first 30 days of hire.
  • Must maintain a current status on Natera training requirements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Master’s degree in epidemiology, biostatistics, biomedical informatics or other advanced degree in a related field preferred

Five or more years of clinical trials and/or clinical data experience

Experience with project management, clinical research and scientific writing

Experience with data analysis and data management preferred

Demonstrated ability to identify problems and develop right-sized solutions

Fast learner who can develop in-depth technical understanding of Natera’s products

Exceptional communication skills (oral and written) and attention to detail

Demonstrated ability to work independently AND collaborate with team members.

Motivated to be creative and brainstorm innovative solutions

Familiarity with Google and Microsoft suite of work products

A desire to work for a dynamic molecular diagnostic laboratory and manage growth for optimal success

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Job duties are performed in either a Natera office or in the employee’s home office; office space should be private and have internet access. Position requires the ability to use a computer keyboard, communicate over the telephone, and read printed or online material.

The pay range is listed and actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications and specific office location. This may differ in other locations due to cost of labor considerations.
