Requirements

  • Associateโ€™s degree in business administration, health administration, or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare administration, revenue cycle management, and/or medical billing
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of remote work experience in a similar role
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Proven conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive patient information with confidentiality and professionalism

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and mentor a team of billing, eligibility and discharge specialists
  • Oversee day-to-day operations, including patient billing support, claim hold resolution, collections, A/R & denial management, administrative discharge and eligibility requests
  • Ensure that all billing and coding activities adhere to industry standards and regulatory requirements
  • Monitor the verification of patient insurance eligibility prior to services, ensuring accuracy and timely confirmation
  • Oversee the teamโ€™s performance of AthenaHealth and Zendesk platforms
  • Supervise the administrative (financial) discharge process, ensuring it aligns with established policies
  • Monitor and manage accounts receivable, implementing strategies to reduce aging balances and ensure effective collections processes
  • Participate in audits to generate and analyze reports on billing third party performance, A/R, and collections
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure smooth workflows and patient-centered billing practices are being followed
  • Serve as the escalation point for unresolved billing inquiries, complex claim issues, or patient financial concerns
