About the Role

An independent author is seeking a creative illustrator to bring their children’s book to life through black and white illustrations. This project offers an excellent opportunity for emerging artists to build their portfolio while gaining experience in book illustration. The initial project could lead to continued collaboration based on performance.

Responsibilities:

• Create original black and white illustrations that complement the story narrative

• Work closely with the author to understand and visualise story concepts

• Develop character designs and maintain consistency throughout the book

• Adapt illustrations based on feedback and revision requests

• Meet agreed-upon deadlines for sketch submissions and final artwork

• Deliver high-resolution files in required formats

• Basic illustration skills with a focus on children’s artwork

• Ability to work in black and white medium

• Strong understanding of composition and storytelling through art

• Proficiency in digital illustration tools

• Good communication skills

• Reliable internet connection for remote work
