Remote Data Engineer

Summary

Join the CDC Foundation as a Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain data infrastructure for a public health organization. This role will collaborate across technical and non-technical teams to gather requirements, assure correct understanding by developers, and facilitate alignment towards planning and implementation of a public health data systems project.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required
• Minimum of 5+ years of relevant professional experience
• Experience writing Use Cases to document requirements
• Experience collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team to translate user and technical requirements, and lead the team through smooth and continuous delivery

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain robust data pipelines and architectures to support data collection, storage, and movement from multiple sources to databases and data warehouses
• Implement efficient strategies for collecting, storing, and analyzing both structured and unstructured data
• Manage and work with relational and non-relational databases (e.g., SQL) to ensure efficient data storage and retrieval
• Apply data modeling techniques to ensure data integrity, enhance performance, and optimize the overall database structure
• Utilize analytics software to interpret, visualize, and present data insights, contributing to data-driven decision-making across the business
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, translating complex technical solutions for both technical and non-technical stakeholders to support organizational goals

Benefits

Salary Range: $103,500-$143,500 per year
