Location & Remote Work

Our technology team works on the “remote-first” model, which means we are working from home with the possibility of living anywhere in Brazil. We also have the option of using QuintoAndar’s offices in São Paulo and Campinas or using partner coworking spaces, both up to twice a week.

Analytical Governance Specialist at QuintoAndar

As a Data Platform Governance Specialist at QuintoAndar, you play a crucial role in the Data Platform Team, orchestrating and maintaining data governance frameworks that enhance data quality, accessibility, and security. Your efforts promote decentralized, self-service analytics, developing policies and practices that empower business units to independently utilize data while ensuring uniform application across our data platform and its associated tools.

In this pivotal role, you will bridge between technical, business, and privacy teams, leveraging your deep understanding of data technologies to bring their agendas together and develop robust governance frameworks for our data platform. You will define and enforce data governance standards, monitor data usage patterns and map data use cases, and ensure that data management aligns with both business objectives and regulatory requirements. As a specialist, you foster a controlled yet flexible data environment that supports rapid decision-making and autonomous data usage by various teams.

Your expertise will be instrumental in shaping how data is accessed and used across the company, ensuring that our data practices are in line with the evolving standards of data governance in a highly dynamic and technically advanced environment.

As an Analytical Governance Specialist, you are expected to:

• Serve as a core facilitator for data governance, enabling decentralized analytics and self-service capabilities within a controlled framework. Ensure safe and effective data use across both data and business teams, promoting optimal data practices and compliance.
• Continuously develop and refine governance frameworks to support autonomous data handling by business units. Align these frameworks with evolving business strategies, ensuring they remain effective and relevant as the company grows.
• Design and establish mechanisms for independent data access and analysis within overarching governance controls, balancing business unit autonomy with the necessary security measures to uphold organizational standards and compliance requirements.
• Collaborate closely with analysts, engineers, business stakeholders, and the privacy team to tailor governance strategies that ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with legal standards. Bridge technical capabilities and business needs effectively.
• Lead educational initiatives that enhance stakeholders’ understanding of effective data governance principles implemented within our Data Platform. Cultivate a well-informed, data-savvy workforce capable of making informed decisions based on robust data usage.

We are looking for a candidate who:

• Advocates for data democratization, skillfully balancing decentralized data access with stringent governance controls to ensure data is used safely and effectively across the organization.
• Has at least 5 years of experience in managing data that supports self-service analytics platforms and decentralized business intelligence, with a proven track record of driving significant organizational change through impactful data governance projects.
• Possesses deep familiarity with technologies and methodologies crucial for effective data governance and data analytics in environments where business units operate with substantial autonomy. Experience with tools like Metabase, Superset, Databricks, and Trino is highly valued.
• Lead educational initiatives such as workshops and training sessions, promoting a data-driven culture and ensuring stakeholders are proficient in governance principles and practices.
• Is fluent in English, able to communicate effectively with our international team and suppliers, facilitating a global approach to data governance and collaboration.
• Understands the data lifecycle and key concepts such as data architecture, lineage, governance, and privacy, applying this comprehensive knowledge to enhance governance frameworks.
• Keeps up with the evolution of technologies and best practices in the data domain and integrates these insights into the team’s routine, ensuring our practices remain  innovative and effective.
• Demonstrates advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, able to tackle complex data governance issues and develop innovative, practical solutions.
