Job description

A Day as a Junior/Medior Front-end Engineer at bGenius - Kinesso:

You begin your day by attending the stand-up with the development team, where you check in on progress, offer help, and align with your teammates either remotely or in the office. Every other Friday, the team wraps up the last story point and participates in a company-wide demo to showcase what has been achieved during the sprint. Lunch on these demo days often features fries as a celebratory treat!

After the demo, you focus on a couple of key activities: learning and improving. This could mean receiving mentorship from senior colleagues, improving your coding skills, or exploring new front-end technologies. As the day winds down, you might enjoy some casual conversations over drinks and snacks with your team, wrapping up another week of growth and collaboration.

Your Role:

We are looking for a Junior or Medior Front-end Engineer who is eager to learn and grow within our innovation team. In this role, you will be contributing to the development of user-facing features, improving your skills under the guidance of more experienced engineers, and collaborating with the design and back-end teams to build a seamless user experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development and implementation of front-end features using HTML, CSS, Angular and JavaScript/Typescript.

  • Collaborate with designers and back-end developers to create a polished and functional user interface.

  • Learn and apply best practices in front-end development.

  • Continuously improve by participating in code reviews and receiving mentorship from more experienced engineers.

  • Help maintain the front-end codebase, ensuring it’s clean, efficient, and well-organized.

  • Keep an eye on emerging front-end trends and technologies to help the team stay updated.

Preferred Skills:

  • Understanding of HTML, CSS, Angular and JavaScript/Typescript, and some experience with front-end tools.

  • Experience in Front-end development within a company.

  • Eagerness to learn new technologies and improve existing skills.

  • Good communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team.

  • Ability to receive and apply feedback from senior team members to improve your code and overall approach.

  • A passion for front-end development and creating user-friendly interfaces.

  • A higher professional education (HBO) level of thinking and working is advantageous, but not required.

What We Offer:

  • Hybrid working, part of which is done from our location in Groningen.

  • Collaboration with international teams on products used globally.

  • A supportive environment where your learning and growth are encouraged.

  • The opportunity to work in an Agile environment with the chance to make an impact early in your career.
