Remote Lead Data Scientist, Retail (Manufacturing)

We are seeking an experienced Lead Data Scientist with a strong background in the Retail CPG and Manufacturing industry. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to analyze, model, and drive data-driven insights that enhance decision-making and create strategic advantages.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work on the latest applications of data science to solve business problems in the Retail, CPG and Manufacturing space.

• Design and implement advanced predictive models to analyze trends and behaviors in the Retail CPG and Manufacturing sectors.

• Collaborate with stakeholders across data engineering, product, and business teams to understand objectives and provide data-driven solutions.

• Develop data models and pipelines to support analytical and machine-learning initiatives.

• Leverage domain knowledge in Retail CPG and Manufacturing to produce insights and identify growth opportunities.

• Prepare and present insights, recommendations, and data findings to technical and non-technical audiences.

• Maintain best practices in data science and machine learning, ensuring accuracy, quality, and compliance.

• Collaborate, coach, and learn with a growing team of experienced Data Scientists.

• Stay connected with external sources of ideas through conferences and community engagements.

• Support demands from regulators, investor relations, etc., to develop innovative solutions to meet objectives utilizing cutting-edge techniques and tools.

• 9-10 + years of strong hands-on work experience Manufacturing Experience.

• Should be able to lead domain conversations on a solution consulting angle.

• Should be proficient in Spanish Language.

• Proficient in Python (pipeline creation, pytest, data manipulation with Pandas, etc.), R, SQL. Strong understanding of machine learning, predictive analytics, and statistical modeling.

• Know typical data sets available and make recommendations by performing EDA upfront and suggest strategies around overall Data Wrangling and cleanup

• Domain Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of the Retail CPG industry, especially Smart Manufacturing Experience. Familiarity with industry-specific Data Systems - Manufacturing Control Tower, Manufacturing Systems around Global Shop Floor Tools, MES, historian, SAP etc

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to present data insights to a variety of audiences.

• Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)

• CI/CD Practices: Experience with continuous integration and deployment practices is a plus. Experience with model deployment and monitoring is a plus
