Requirements

  • Proficiency in Oracle, with over 4 years of experience
  • In-depth knowledge of core Oracle concepts and architecture
  • Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
  • Expertise in GoldenGate, Exadata, and RAC technologies
  • Competency in managing Linux/Unix server environments
  • Familiarity with CI/CD principles, especially using Jenkins and GitLab
  • Understanding of AWS
  • Upper-intermediate (B2) or higher English proficiency for communication in a multinational environment
  • Expertise in Oracle RMAN (Recovery Manager) or Data Guard for database backup, recovery, and replication is often crucial in DBA roles
  • Experience with database security measures, such as encryption, user roles, and access control management (especially important for sensitive data protection)
  • Proven experience in performance tuning (both at the database and query level) is often emphasized for DBAs to optimize performance in production environments
  • Experience with managing database upgrades, patches, and ensuring version control without impacting production systems
  • Knowledge of shell scripting (Bash, Perl, or Python) to automate routine DBA tasks could be useful
  • Experience in implementing and managing high-availability solutions (including Oracle RAC, Data Guard) to minimize downtime

Responsibilities

  • Design, configure, and maintain Oracle databases to meet business requirements
  • Support database migrations between on-premises and cloud environments (such as Oracle Cloud Infrastructure)
  • Analyze data access patterns to identify and address hotspots and bottlenecks for optimal performance
  • Assist developers with data model design and review, planning high-performing queries
  • Define and implement best practices for Oracle database management, including configuration and performance monitoring
  • Manage the storage capacity of database clusters, planning for future growth
  • Provide diagnostic support and troubleshoot production issues to ensure reliability and performance
