Job description
LAC Federal is looking for a Program Coordinator to manage all activities related to a major collection discoverability project at a world-renowned institution. This role involves program monitoring, performance management, technical assistance, and comprehensive reporting on all aspects of the project. The Program Coordinator will work closely with Collection and Discovery leadership, providing just-in-time information, responding to inquiries, and managing resources from the Contractor. They will also supervise the Contractor staff, ensuring quality records and finding aids are created for ingestion into the systems. This project is hybrid with remote and on-site work required in the Bethesda, MD, area supervising a distributed remote workforce.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinate with leadership and staff to prioritize project needs.
Draft communication and data collection tools. Manage scheduling, meetings, and consulting activities.
Supervise the workflow pilot processes and Contractor staff.
Collect data, conduct quality assurance and audits, and report to leadership.
Provide technical assistance and respond to program-related inquiries.
Oversee time management and ensure the project’s timely completion.
Experience and Qualification Requirements: Master’s in Library and Information Science Strongly Preferred
Proven experience in managing large cataloging and metadata projects.
Experience with cataloging and creating authority records according to RDA, DCRM,
MARC, BIBCO/CONSER, LC/PCC Policy Statements, and NACO guidelines.
Familiarity with subject-specific classification systems.
Desirable experience with non-MARC metadata and metadata conversion.
Desirable experience using Alma for workflow development.
