Join our dynamic team as a Respiratory Therapist to provide advanced respiratory care and leverage cutting-edge technology to monitor and improve the health outcomes of our long-term care patients. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will play a crucial role in delivering comprehensive respiratory therapy services and ensuring the highest standards of care.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients’ respiratory conditions and develop individualized treatment plans
- Administer a wide range of respiratory therapy treatments including aerosol therapies, chest physiotherapy, oxygen therapy, and other advanced modalities as prescribed
- Continuously monitor patients’ respiratory status, using diagnostic tools such as spirometry and pulse oximetry. Identify and address acute changes in patients' conditions promptly
- Work collaboratively with pulmonologists, Skilled Nursing physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a comprehensive approach to patient care
- Educate patients and their families about respiratory conditions, treatment plans, and home care techniques. Provide guidance on the use of respiratory equipment and preventive care strategies
- Maintain detailed, accurate, and timely documentation of patient assessments, treatments, progress notes, and any changes in condition
- Ensure proper operation and maintenance of respiratory therapy equipment. Troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues, and coordinate with the biomedical department for repairs and servicing
