Remote Senior Backend Engineer

Summary

Join our team as a Senior Software Engineer with a Backend focus and contribute to the success of OneRail's delivery orchestration platform. As a key member of our engineering team, you will design, develop, and maintain robust backend services using Node.js and TypeScript. Collaborate with frontend engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to define and implement backend features. Stay updated with the latest backend development trends and technologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in backend software development
• Proficiency in Node.js, TypeScript, and Azure services
• Strong understanding of backend architecture and design patterns
• Experience with database management and optimization using Azure Cosmos DB and MySQL
• Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities

Responsibilities

• Design and develop high-quality backend services and APIs using Node.js and TypeScript
• Collaborate with frontend engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to define and implement backend features
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient backend code following best practices
• Ensure backend services are scalable, reliable, and performant using Azure services such as Azure Cosmos DB and Azure Function Apps
• Integrate backend services with frontend applications using Axios and Exegesis & OpenAPI
• Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers
• Identify and fix backend bugs and performance issues
• Stay updated with the latest backend development trends and technologies
• Mentor junior backend engineers and contribute to team growth
