Remote Senior Backend Engineer, Developer Productivity & Platform Engineering Team

Requirements

• Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in your development environment (e.g., Java, Kotlin)
• Knowledge of version control systems like Git, including branching strategies and workflows
• Familiarity with automation tools and scripting (e.g., Bash, Python)
• Experience in setting up and maintaining development environments, including containerization tools like Docker and orchestration systems like Kubernetes
• Best practices and tools of Monitoring and Observability
• Experience with logging systems, application performance monitoring (APM), and alerting mechanisms
• Excellent knowledge and experience across the Testing Pyramid
• Experience with building automation tooling (Gradle)
• Ability to efficiently work with cross-functional teams to identify bottlenecks and pain points in the development process
• Understanding of key performance indicators (KPIs) for developer productivity and how to measure them
• Best practices and tools of Security and Compliance
• Scalability and InfrastructureUnderstanding of how to scale developer tools and infrastructure to support growing teams and codebases
• Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or Ansible

Responsibilities

• Reduce build times and improve feedback loops for developers
• Automate repetitive tasks and streamline development processes
• Develop strategies for improving test coverage and reliability
• Advocate for and implement best practices in code quality, review processes, and documentation
• Educate and support developers on productivity tools and practices
• Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and tools, and assess how they can be leveraged to enhance productivity
• Ensure that productivity tools and practices comply with regulatory and company policies
