We provide a welcoming and inclusive work environment where every OpenTable employee has a tangible impact on what we do and how we do it. Our employees get expansive benefits, flexibility, and the support they need to flourish.

Build and Release Engineering Team

Our team is the beating heart of our organization’s software development lifecycle. We support the tools and systems that enable product engineers to quickly and effortlessly build, release, and deploy the apps and software that diners and restaurants across the world have come to rely on at mealtime.

We support the organization’s CI/CD infrastructure, artifact storage, and a number of custom deployment tools designed to keep everything beyond the code check-in running as smoothly as possible. Some of our tools are hosted on VMs but our primary deployment environment is built on Kubernetes. We maintain a small number of Kubernetes controllers and services, most of which are written in Go, to help organize and keep the platform clean.

Our team is made up of SREs who are software and infrastructure engineers at heart. We write code, build servers, and provide support to our users.  We also often work closely with other teams who handle security, networking, datacenter hardware, and virtualization to complete many of our projects.

The Role

We are looking for a Site Reliability Engineer with a few years under their belt who can help us deliver a hurdle free experience to our product engineers. We need someone to help us iterate on and evolve our CI/CD platforms, help us adopt a “shift-left” mentality, upgrade existing tools, build new tools, and support hundreds of users of our systems across the organization. In this role, you will:

  • Be responsible for the organization’s CI/CD infrastructure and artifact storage systems
  • Deploy and maintain specialized tooling and services in our Kubernetes clusters
  • Support other engineering teams with expertise and professionalism
  • Build safer software delivery methods with techniques such as blue-green or canary deployments
  • Maintain and improve the reliability of our internal software
  • Build new features or new tools to help us solve the problems of the evolving organization
  • Improve testing and validation early in the process to prevent production issues down the line
