Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as Computer Science or Engineering
  • 10+ years of Software Development experience
  • 6+ years of experience managing a live Cloud Solution in Production and with managing cloud resources hosted on AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • 3+ years of experience with Python, React, and Typescript
  • Familiarity with at least two public cloud platforms
  • Hands-on experience with cloud monitoring, logging, and alerting tools
  • Solid communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Gather requirements
  • Define specifications including personae and use-cases
  • Design, develop, test and build test automation, monitoring, and alerting for the resulting microservices-based SaaS solutions
  • Architect and optimize cloud solutions for high availability, performance, reliability, auto-scaling, and security
  • Maintain disaster recovery and continuity plans for all cloud services
  • Apply a strong understanding of cloud security principles and practices, including IAM, encryption, and network security to solution design
  • Ensure systems are compliant with industry standards and security regulations
  • Perform cloud cost optimization and recommend best practices for cloud resource management
  • Coach and support other engineers, within the immediate team and the larger organization
  • Stay up to date on the latest cloud technologies and best practices, and drive the adoption of those best practices org-wide
  • Be part of our on-call rotation and DevOps culture, to ensure the availability of our SaaS solutions

Octane is currently hiring a Staff Engineer to build out SaaS solutions for dealerships and lending across the company.
