Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, with expertise in writing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using a combination of tools such as Terraform
- Highly experienced with Pull Requests (PR) / Merge Requests (MR) workflows, ensuring code quality, peer reviews, and version control best practices
- Expertise in one or more system administration domains (Linux, Windows, network, storage)
- Deep understanding of tradeoffs between running a data center vs. using cloud providers
- Passionate about mentoring others and improving team skills, as well as documenting work and communicating effectively
- Ability to work seamlessly with cross-functional agile software development teams
- Passion for reliability practices and a drive to help teams maintain and improve their systemsβ reliability
- Familiarity with key Site Reliability Engineering principles: eliminating toil, embracing risk, simplicity, and release management
Responsibilities
- Leverage your experience with structured Terraform to make the entire company proficient in creating reusable, maintainable, and scalable systems
- Use automation to make our growing systems more cost-effective, dependable and faster
- Design, code, and operate GCP, AWS and Azure cloud resources and on-prem tools and systems to reduce the amount of time and effort needed by our engineers
- Assist peers in adopting and improving their use of our reliability tools and practices such as SLOs, alerting, runbooks and general observability
- Monitor user-facing systems using best practices with customer experience, reliability and scalability in mind
- Engage with other teams at Array to improve tooling, iterate on our incident response process, and hold effective and blameless postmortems
- Work with engineers to debug and fix issues
- Participate in an on-call rotation alongside the engineers who build our products
