Remote Tax Accountant

Requirements

• Higher education in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field
• 2+ years of experience in Accounting or Tax field
• Knowledge of Lithuanian direct and indirect taxation principles
• A keen interest in tax research, including reading laws and publications
• Strong attention to detail
• Great organizational, multitasking, problem-solving, analytical and communication skills
• Strong sense of ownership and commitment
• A team player with a proactive mindset, adaptability, and a willingness to learn
• Motivation to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent spoken and written English skills

Responsibilities

• Collect and process sales and corporate tax data (VAT, GST, CIT, and others) and submit to consultants or authorities
• Keep track of tax reporting deadlines, foresee upcoming payment dates, and initiate the necessary payments
• Reconcile and write off taxes, track tax liabilities and overpayments
• Make entries to the accounting system to accurately reflect tax data
• Give advice on common tax-related questions to the finance team and other departments
• Communicate with tax consultants and tax authorities
• Participate in new tax registrations, research foreign tax legislation, gather required documents, and set up the necessary processes
• Support the Tax Manager during various tax-related projects and tax audits
