Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Minimum of 4 years experience in tax compliance or related financial roles in state reporting and compliance
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations
  • Prior experience with auditing and financial data reporting
  • Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are necessary
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal is important
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines is a must
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software tools is required

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and file federal, state, and local tax reporting in a timely manner
  • Research and analyze tax issues to ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations across numerous states
  • Assist in the preparation of tax provisions and support regular audits
  • Prepare financial reporting and tracking for compliance
  • Maintain accurate tax documentation and records in accordance with established policies
  • Communicate with federal and state tax authorities as needed, addressing any inquiries or issues that arise
  • Analyze financial transactions to identify any potential tax implications
  • Provide support in tax planning initiatives and development
  • Stay updated on changes to tax laws and advise management accordingly
  • Act as company expert on reporting, regulations and compliance matters
  • Create and manage financial data with tools like Excel, Paylocity, Salesforce, and Fieldglass

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA certification or working towards it is a plus
  • Experience in corporate environments is preferred
  • Familiarity with tax compliance and state reporting regulations is preferred

Benefits

Compensation range of $35-$45/hour
