Remote Technical Lead, Senior Software Engineer - Machine Learning

Summary

Join Voxy as a Technical Lead on the Engineering team to contribute to rebuilding the patented machine learning-based content pipeline, leading up to 3 engineers, and shaping the engineering team's growth. You will make direct code contributions, review others' work, assume ownership of the ML pipeline, provide technical leadership, and collaborate with stakeholders.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience working as a software engineer in a production environment
• Experience with Natural Language Processing(NLP), Machine Learning(ML), LLM’s (or SLM) for Applied Machine Learning (Voxy is not writing novel algorithms… yet)
• Curiosity and knowledge about technologies and architectural patterns of software engineering across the entire stack
• Pragmatism in understanding when to build the solution that scales to 1 million users or works for 100 users
• Ability to design data models that reflect the Voxy business using advanced SQL/NoSQL/ORM’s
• Experience working collaboratively with cross functional teams and various stakeholders across an organization
• Experience coordinating other Engineers through the delivery of a complex software project, including maintenance
• Previous experience leading projects

Responsibilities

• INNOVATE by incorporating AI, NLP and ML into our content processing pipeline using applied machine learning
• Make direct code contributions to the code base and review the contributions of others to ensure code quality and adherence to specifications
• Assume ownership of our ML pipeline that transforms content into learning objects across multiple languages
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to other Engineers
• Follow and/or create best practices from the industry and improve the implementation of those practices on the team over time
• Collaborate with stakeholders and other contributors in Engineering, Product, and our human content curators to produce technical specifications, documentation and implementation plans for new and existing functionality

Preferred Qualifications

• Django or Django Rest Framework or Fastapi
• AWS and OpenAI (and other) ML/AI services and a little mlops
