Research Scientist Manager

Summary

Join ServiceNow's AI Research group as a Manager to lead and mentor a team of 5-10 researchers and engineers focused on generative AI. You will collaborate with research leads, supporting team roadmap development and goal achievement. This role offers the opportunity to conduct your own research or participate in ongoing projects, contributing to knowledge generation and transfer. Success in this position requires experience in managing projects and people, a collaborative mindset, and a strong publication record in top AI conferences. A Ph.D. is a plus. Requirements

• Experience in managing projects and people
• Understanding and interest in software product development and innovation
• Record of contributing to research communities and efforts, including publishing papers in top international conferences such as NeurIPS, ICLR, ICML, ACL, EMNLP, CVPR, etc
• Proficiency in scientific programming with Python and Numpy, and optionally, also with Java, JavaScript, or R
• Proficiency in deep learning programming with Pytorch
• A collaborative mindset with a focus on completing tasks and a drive to push the boundaries of knowledge and understanding
• Willingness to build a strong inclusive team culture

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of 5 to 10 researchers and engineers, in collaboration with the research leads
• Ensure the growth, development, and wellbeing of the team
• Provide tactical and operational support to the research leads
• Conduct your own research or participate in transfer activities of the AI Research team
• Support the research lead of a research Lab or program in building the team’s roadmap and achieving the teams goal
