Research Software Engineering Student

Summary

Join NiCE as a Research Software Engineering Student and contribute to a Data Science team working on real-world features in a cloud-based environment. You will gain hands-on experience with advanced technologies and development practices, collaborating with experienced engineers and product managers. This role involves end-to-end development of product features, training and deploying machine learning models, writing clean code in Python and Java, and working with teammates to optimize existing components. The ideal candidate is pursuing an M.Sc. in a STEM field with AI/Data Science experience and strong analytical and problem-solving skills. NiCE offers a hybrid work model (NiCE-FLEX) with flexibility between office and remote work. Requirements

• Currently pursuing a M.Sc. in Computer Science / Software Engineering / Other STEM field
• With 2 remaining semesters (end date Oct 2026)
• AI/ Data Science courses / projects
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Fast learner with the ability to work independently and take initiative
• Solid communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
• Practical experience or coursework in Python and Machine Learning

Responsibilities

• Take part in end-to-end development of product features
• Train, test and deploy DL/ML models to production
• Write clean, testable code using modern languages and frameworks such as Python and Java
• Develop and deploy trained models, algorithms and operation research algorithms to production, providing advanced solutions to our products
• Learn and apply best practices in software design, testing and DevOps processes
• Work with teammates to troubleshoot, debug, and optimize existing components

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with modern software development processes
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS
