Revenue Accountant

Summary

Join Dialpad as a Revenue Accountant and drive the end-to-end revenue recognition process, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and ASC 606. You will partner with various teams, including billing, deal desk, and customer success, to accurately record revenue and maintain financial records. This role requires strong knowledge of US GAAP, ASC 606, and SaaS revenue models. You will develop strategies to improve accuracy and timeliness of revenue management and implement internal finance controls. Requirements

• Be a Revenue Accountant with 3+ years of experience
• Have a proven track record of supporting US based teams
• Possess strong knowledge of US GAAP
• Possess an understanding of both ASC 606 and the SaaS revenue model
• Have a minimum of 1 year in revenue accounting
• Possess strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships among multiple teams within a physically remote environment
• Have great attention to detail and a passion for meeting and beating deadlines with an energy to drive tasks to completion
• Work hours will follow US Pacific Time zone

Responsibilities

• Oversee and contribute to the Company's revenue recognition framework by completing month-end revenue recognition posting and reconciliations
• Partner with Billing team to ensure accurate data inputs and understanding of revenue sources for accurate revenue posting
• Execute the SaaS revenue recognition accounting model within the respective systems and tools, including executing the process of our month-end accounting close for SaaS, usage revenue and Professional. Services revenue as well the necessary entries for the allowance for doubtful accounts and bad debts
• Develop new strategies to improve accuracy and timeliness of revenue management
• Develop internal finance controls based on industry best practices
• Direct the continued implementation and improvement of technical tools to reduce manual business processes
• Work with the cross-functional team on new product introduction and revenue recognition considerations
• Work pro-actively with executive management on new business arrangements and related revenue recognition considerations
• Assist in other ad-hoc revenue related accounting activities
