Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in RPG programming (ILE, Free, IV, III) on AS/400 (iSeries)
  • Strong knowledge of DB2 databases and experience in SQL queries, stored procedures, and performance tuning
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure (e.g., Azure Logic Apps, Azure Functions, Azure SQL, API Management)
  • Understanding of RESTful APIs, SOAP, and integration techniques between legacy systems and cloud solutions
  • Experience in modernization projects, migrating AS/400 applications to cloud or hybrid environments
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with an ability to troubleshoot complex systems
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in an agile, collaborative environment

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain RPG (ILE, Free, IV, III) applications on IBM AS/400 (iSeries)
  • Modernize and optimize existing RPG programs, integrating them with Azure-based cloud solutions
  • Develop API connections and web services for seamless integration with other enterprise applications
  • Work with DB2 databases, ensuring performance optimization and query efficiency
  • Utilize Azure services (Logic Apps, Azure Functions, Azure SQL, etc.) to enhance AS/400 capabilities
  • Participate in system migrations, upgrades, and modernizations from on-prem AS/400 to cloud-based architectures
  • Troubleshoot and resolve application issues, ensuring system stability and performance
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including cloud engineers, system administrators, and business analysts
  • Implement best practices in security, performance tuning, and database management

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with IBM WebSphere, MQ, or cloud-based AS/400 modernization frameworks
  • Familiarity with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) or other containerization solutions
  • Knowledge of IBM Cloud, AWS, or other cloud platforms is a plus
  • Previous experience in the retail, finance, or manufacturing sectors using AS/400 applications
