Summary

Requirements

  • A degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related technical field
  • M.S. with 0-3+ years of experience, or B.S. with 4+ years of experience
  • Proven experience in mechanical engineering, vehicle engineering, or physics-based applications
  • Experience with vehicle and sensor systems, cloud-based data technology, data visualization, and statistical analytics
  • Proficiency in programming languages, particularly Python and SQL
  • Familiarity with agile development practices and continuous integration/deployment (CI/CD)
  • Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to dissect complex issues and develop creative solutions
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders
  • Experience working in distributed teams, with the ability to collaborate across different time zones
  • Plotly/Dash and/or Tableau

Responsibilities

  • Research and access internal and external big data sources
  • Perform exploratory analyses to evaluate data completeness and relevance
  • Develop serverless cloud-based workflows to transform and integrate data from various domains, including vehicle, sensing, video, meteorological, and geospatial data
  • Use engineering principles, signal processing and statistical principles to clean, filter, and process raw data effectively
  • Select appropriate analysis methods for various data types to manage bias and ensure data quality
  • Develop models, compare performance, and identify key factors that impact safety performance
  • Construct continuous analysis workflows that support day-to-day operations and decision-making
  • Use visualization tools to communicate insights and support decision-making
  • Automate reporting and documentation to improve efficiency and regulatory compliance
  • Maintain detailed documentation of code, workflows, and data stores for reference by team members

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to travel occasionally to other sites and possibly internationally (passport required)
  • Comfortable with occasional outdoor exposure and working overtime when necessary
  • Requires the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in designated areas
  • A passion for continuous technical education and staying current in the field of data engineering and autonomous systems
