Requirements

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient in computers and software, with the ability to quickly learn new systems
• Familiarity with Word and Excel; experience with Draftworx, Xero, and Pastel is advantageous
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to work accurately under pressure
• Deadline-oriented and capable of working independently with minimal supervision
• Eagerness to learn and grow within the role and further your traineeship
• Good physical and mental health
• Currently studying towards or possess a BCom Degree or equivalent qualification

Responsibilities

• Record transactions accurately in accounting systems
• Conduct reconciliations of accounts
• Perform bookkeeping tasks up to trial balance
• Interpret clients' accounting records and prepare annual financial statements (IFRS for SMEs)
• Calculate taxes, including income tax and provisional tax, and complete tax returns
• Prepare VAT and PAYE calculations and submit returns via E-filing
• Provide assistance to Accountants on various client matters, including administrative tasks
• Address and resolve client queries effectively
• Fulfill tasks outlined in the SAIPA competency framework
• Undertake any other duties related to the role as required

Preferred Qualifications

Valid Driver's license and access to reliable transportation (preferred)
