Summary
Join Newsela as a Sales Representative, SMB and become the face of the company in the small-medium business market. Build relationships with key decision-makers in school districts and sell Newsela's products. Manage the sales lifecycle, from pipeline management and forecasting to lead generation campaigns. Develop a deep understanding of your territory's funding, initiatives, demographics, and the K-12 education landscape. As an individual contributor on a regional team, you'll own your territory, manage sales, and build new business relationships. Contribute to Newsela's growth and impact the adoption of its products in K-12 classrooms nationwide. This role offers a competitive compensation package and a supportive work environment.
Requirements
- Have 2+ years of hitting or exceeding your quota of selling SaaS products
- Demonstrate expertise in seamlessly navigating multiple stakeholders to engineer the right solution for each customer
- Take a high volume / transactional approach to sales, and have proven experience building a book of business
- Be a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can drive sales quickly to a close
Responsibilities
- Build relationships with key decision makers at the school district level
- Sell Newsela’s suite of products to bring engaging reading content to districts
- Manage pipeline and forecasting
- Design lead generation campaigns
- Manage sales through the entire lifecycle
- Become well-versed in your territory’s funding, state initiatives, demographics, and K-12 education landscape
- Own your territory
- Manage the entire lifecycle of a sale
- Build new business relationships that bring Newsela’s solution to classrooms
Preferred Qualifications
Have been a teacher at one point, or have a good grasp of pedagogy and can truly help connect the challenges in the classroom to the solutions Newsela is building
