Scientific Application Analyst

Summary

Zifo is seeking an experienced Scientific Applications Analyst with knowledge in various Laboratory scientific applications to work on-site in Alajuela, Costa Rica. The candidate must be authorized to work in Costa Rica. Responsibilities include collaborating with end customers and managing configuration processes. Qualifications include a degree in Life Sciences or Technology, 3-5 years of experience configuring LIMS or ELN platforms, and understanding of Lab Information Management Systems concepts.

Requirements

• Knowledge of databases and database concepts (SQLServer, Oracle, PostgreSQL etc.)
• Bachelors or master’s degree in Life Sciences or Technology
• Background in scientific field: Biology, Microbiology, Bioinformatics
• 3-5 years of experience configuring LIMS or ELN or CDS platform
• Good understanding of one or more industry domains: Biopharma, Biotech, Chemicals, Health etc
• Possesses good technical knowledge of Java or other scripting language
• Knowledge of C Sharp (C#)
• Strong knowledge of MS Excel
• Experience with LIMS and ELN platforms such as Sample Manager, LabVantage
• Understanding of Lab Information Management Systems concepts
• Good understanding of laboratory workflows and sample lifecycle
• Experience working in GxP environments

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with end customer to understand their requirements and translate them into specifications to configure Sample Manager LIMS
• Collaborate with end customer to understand requirements and translate them into designs, and develops the desired functionality
• Reviews / Tests components and other deliverables
• Debugs programs / components, understands and resolves issues reported post-live or during UAT
• Manage the configuration management processes
