Summary

The job is a software engineering position in satellite spaceflight safety systems, where the employee will work on updating software to protect satellites from hazards, learn about satellite operations, and support various phases of the satellite life cycle. The job requires a top-secret security clearance, a bachelor's degree in relevant fields, and strong skills in Java, databases, teamwork, problem-solving, communication, and Agile methodologies.

Requirements

• Top Secret / SCI security clearance with willingness to take a CI Polygraph required
• Bachelor’s Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent field. No experience required

Responsibilities

• Update software to screen satellite orbits for hazards
• Interface with multiple teammates to develop applications to provide data to a scalable cloud service platform
• Learn space operations and how the code supports satellite constellations and operations
• Support and plan Agile sprints to break software development tasks into logical and efficient software packages supporting a wide variety of satellite safety tasks
• Work with advanced analysts and system tier support to create procedures in support of ongoing operations
• Prepare and give briefings to mid and senior level management on program increments supporting satellite and space related activities
• Evaluate incoming scientific data for reasonableness
• Be adaptable to changing priorities in an operations environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Oracle Java Certification (or equivalent)
• Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (or equivalent)
• Red Hat Linux experience
• Experience with development tools such as Git, Maven, and Jenkins
• Familiarity with web technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and AJAX
• Windows experience
• Strong skill set with Jira
• Strong skill set with Confluence
• Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) certification or experience
• Experience serving government customers
