Requirements
- Education: Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field
- Technical Skills: Basic understanding of networking and operating systems
- Familiarity with cybersecurity concepts such as firewalls, encryption, and intrusion detection systems
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Communication Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey technical information
Responsibilities
- Support Security Operations: Assist in monitoring security alerts and incidents using security information and event management (SIEM) systems
- Help investigate and analyze security breaches and incidents
- Vulnerability Assessment: Participate in vulnerability scans and assessments of networks, systems, and applications
- Assist in identifying and remediating security vulnerabilities
- Security Policy and Compliance: Support the development and enforcement of security policies and procedures
- Help ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards, such as GDPR, HIPAA, or PCI-DSS
- Threat Intelligence: Assist in gathering and analyzing threat intelligence to understand emerging threats and attack vectors
- Help develop strategies to mitigate identified threats
- Security Awareness Training: Contribute to the creation and delivery of security awareness programs for employees
- Assist in educating staff about phishing, social engineering, and other common security threats
- Documentation: Maintain detailed records of security incidents and responses
- Help document security configurations, processes, and procedures
- Research and Development: Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity trends and technologies
- Assist in researching new security tools and technologies that can enhance the organization's security posture
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of programming or scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript) is a plus
- Strong interest in cybersecurity and eagerness to learn
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills
- Experience: Previous internship or coursework in cybersecurity or related areas is beneficial but not required
