Security Operations Engineer II

Summary

Join Jamf as a Security Operations Engineer and contribute to building, automating, and maintaining cloud security services. You will be responsible for security design, log collection, incident management, and vulnerability management within a cloud environment. This role requires a deep understanding of IT security principles and experience with Linux/Unix, configuration management tools, and scripting languages. The position offers a remote, in-office, or hybrid work option and operates on a night shift schedule (4:00 pm - 12:00 am CST, M-F). Requirements

• Have a minimum of 2 years IT security principles, security operations, techniques, and technologies experience
• Have a minimum of 2 years experience working with Linux/Unix command line interfaces, including shell or python scripting
• Have a minimum of 2 years experience with industry standard configuration management and deployment tools (e.g. Ansible, Chef, Puppet or other)
• Have a High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
• Be a U.S. citizen located physically in the U.S

Responsibilities

• Provide security expertise and guidance to a set of Cloud and Delivery teams
• Be responsible for the tools, configuration, administration and related processes around Security Information and Event Management
• Be responsible for Web application firewall and related prevention, detection and mitigation of DDoS attack
• Perform regular firewall audits in line with our procedures. Provide the appropriate documentation, supporting evidence and follow up on identified issues requiring remediation
• Be responsible for tooling, processes and follow up actions related to our vulnerability scanning and external port scanning needs and practices
• Handle the identification, planning and implementation of cloud hardening needs. Work collaboratively with Operations and other internal teams to communicate, document and implement
• Perform security incident analysis, response and remediation
• Participate in design and implementation of security automation workflows
• Maintain the technical documentation of processes and procedures
• Perform scripting duties in BASH and Python
• Maintain an advanced level of knowledge of JAMF Cloud Services and related products
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

• Have experience with Amazon Web Services
• Have experience in a current programming language (e.g. Python, Golang)
• Have advanced knowledge of containerization concepts and Kubernetes
• Have basic knowledge of MySQL or Postgres
• Have a 4 year / Bachelor's Degree
• Have any of the following certifications: RHCE (RedHat Certified Engineer), AWS Solutions Architect Associate, AWS Certified Developer Associate, AWS Certified SysOps Associate, AWS Certified Security
