Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience developing Android apps (or equivalent practical experience)
  • Expertise in Kotlin, Android SDK, and Android Studio
  • Familiarity with architectural patterns like MVVM
  • A strong sense of ownership and ability to independently drive features from idea to release
  • Experience with RESTful APIs, async workflows, and mobile lifecycle best practices
  • Experience with Jetpack libraries (Compose, Navigation, ViewModel, etc.)
  • Understanding of profiling, memory tuning, and offline-first strategies on Android
  • Experience with international UX considerations—bandwidth, localization, device variability, etc

Responsibilities

  • Build new features and improve existing ones in Kotlin
  • Own large areas of the Android app and help set architectural direction
  • Optimize for performance, reliability, and scalability
  • Implement best practices around localization, accessibility, and global UX
  • Account for international usage considerations including variable bandwidth, device capabilities, and connectivity
  • Collaborate across disciplines to ship fast, high-quality updates

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with React Native
  • Exposure to 3D graphics, spatial computing, or frameworks like OpenGL, Sceneform, or Filament
  • Experience with computer vision, SLAM, LiDAR, or mesh processing
  • Familiarity with ARCore
