Senior Android Software Engineer

Summary

Join Airbnb's Chatbot Product team as a Software Engineer and contribute to the development of innovative AI-driven customer service products. You will work with a talented team to build user experiences for both backend workflows and frontend interfaces across various platforms. Your responsibilities include collaborating with cross-functional teams, leading the full development lifecycle, and fostering a culture of technical quality. This role requires extensive Android development experience, expertise in Kotlin/Java and Jetpack Compose, and strong product sense. The position is US-remote eligible with occasional office work. Requirements

• 5+ years’ experience developing Android applications at scale with a high volume of users with an eye for visual details
• Expertise in Kotlin/Java and Jetpack Compose, as well as knowledge of UI architecture and UI performance
• Possess strong product sense and a passion for UI and UX product development and can effectively communicate with non-technical partners
• Demonstrated ability to proactively collaborate with Product Management, Design, Data and other iOS, Android, and Web Engineers
• Passionate about continuous learning and innovation in the mobile industry
• Bachelor’s and/or Master’s/PhD degree, preferably in CS, or equivalent experience

Responsibilities

• Work cross-functionally with product, design, and other engineering counterparts to execute on product and business strategy to build high quality products and features
• Drive, lead, and contribute to the full development cycle: technical design, development, test, experimentation, analysis, and launch. You’ll be reviewing code and design docs, giving feedback on product specs and mocks
• Nurture a culture of technical quality from design, through code review, to production operations
